The 30-Minute Family Portrait Refresh

You've got the family photo. But do you have the one of just you and them? The one of all the kids together? The one of just you two? Most sessions give you one kind of photo. This one gives you all of them, in a single 30-minute session at a location you love within 30 miles of Austin, Texas.

We'll prioritize the full family, each parent with the kids, siblings, individual children and parents together first. From there, we'll use the remaining time for movement, candid interactions and the little detail shots that make your gallery feel like your family, not just a checklist of poses. You'll receive 25+ fully edited images in a private online gallery within 14 days, plus a same-evening sneak peek.

A Few Things to Know

 

What can I expect during our session?

Your Family Refresh is intentionally guided from beginning to end. I’ll lead you through each portrait combination, give you direction when you need it, and create space for the natural interactions in between. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose, or wondering what we’re doing next.

How will I know what to wear?

You won’t be left to figure it out alone. After booking, you’ll receive styling guidance designed around the natural tones and scenery at your location choice. I’m also happy to help with outfit choices so your family feels coordinated without looking overly matched.

What if my children are shy, energetic, or simply not interested in pictures that day?

That’s completely welcome. Children aren’t expected to perform for the camera or stay perfectly still for 30 minutes. I work with their personalities rather than against them, using movement, connection and simple prompts to create beautiful portraits while still allowing them to be themselves.

Can we prioritize certain portraits that are especially important to us?

Absolutely. Your questionnaire gives you an opportunity to tell me about your family and anything you especially want documented. The Family Refresh has an intentional flow, but no two families need exactly the same gallery. If there’s a relationship or portrait that matters particularly to you, I want to know.

What happens after I reserve our session?

Once your $100 reservation payment, agreement and questionnaire are complete, your appointment is officially reserved. From there, you’ll receive everything you need to prepare—including session details, styling guidance and what to expect—so there’s very little left for you to figure out on your own.

When will we see our photographs?

You won’t have to wait long for the first glimpse. A small sneak peek is delivered the same evening as your session, with your complete hand-edited gallery delivered through a private online gallery within 14 days.

What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Texas weather gets the final vote sometimes. I’ll monitor conditions leading up to your appointment and communicate with you if a change becomes necessary. If weather prevents us from photographing safely or creating the experience planned for you, one complimentary weather reschedule is included.

Is Family Refresh right for families who recently had professional portraits taken?

It can be. Family Refresh isn't built around waiting for a milestone, instead it’s about documenting the version of your family that exists right now. Some families come because it has been years; others simply realize they're missing portraits of Mom with the kids, the siblings together, each child individually, or the parents as a couple. There doesn't have to be a special occasion for those photographs to matter.
